Itinerary description

POINT:
We did it from Grasmere village which is a bus stop.
HOW TO GET:
We did it from Manchester to Windermere by train, change trains at Oxenholme lake district and then by bus 599 or 595 to Grasmere village bus stop.
WHY TO DO IT:
For the views of the lakes and the surrounding mountains, although we did not see much by the fog and rain. It is also quite easy and with little accumulated unevenness.
ITINERARY:
From Grasmere to Rydal.
ALTERNATIVES:
It can be done in the opposite direction, you can continue walking to Ambleside. You can return to the starting point by making a circular route or just go around a lake and not both.
DIFFICULTIES:
For the average hiker I believe none.
SERVICES:
Grasmere is smaller than Ambleside or Windermere, yet we saw cafes and restaurants and also the most important bus 599 and 595 that link with Ambleside and Windermere.
