Itinerary description
Kilembe Trail (Private trail with private camps)
1. Day
Start: Kilembe - Trekkers hostel (1450m)
Finish: Kalalama Camp 3134m
7 days-trek
Agency: Rwenzori Trekking service (the only one, who provides Kilembe Trail)
I can strongly recommend this agency. The guides are reliable, food is good and the accomodations well maintained. The agency supports the community around the park.
Guided tour to Margherita Peak is mandatory. Additional you have to pay entrance fee for the national park.
When I hiked the track, it was very moody because of the raining seasons. You will get rubber boots from the Agency. Also ropes, grampons and climbing gear are provided by the agency.
To travel from Kasese to the starting point (Trekkers hostel in Kilembe), you can ask the agency (expensive), take a taxi from Kasese (middle price) or use a boda (cheap) which is a taxi on motor bycicle.
