Ubla - Kabo 1419m - Šišavci 1596m

Ova prelijepa staza je idealna za one koji žele početi sa istraživanjem Orjena a ne znaju odakle početi. Dužina ture je 10 km, a savlada se oko 700 metara uspona. Staza laka, srednje teška i pod vrhom Kabo teška. Dodatni oprez je potreban i nakon vrha Kabo u dužini 200 metara jer se savladava uži stjenoviti greben na pojedinim mjestima eksponiran.

Da krenemo od početka:

Prvih 1,4km nema uspona a u tom dijelu staza vodi makadamskim putem od Planinarskog doma, prolazimo pored par vikendica a zatim prelazimo preko livade do uključenja u asfaltni put koji prolazi gornjim poljem ubalskog platoa, pratimo taj put 500 metara zatim skrećemo desno na makadamski put kroz livade. Nakon tog dijela put ulazi u gustu borovu šumu gdje počinje uspon. Nakon 500m putem kroz šumu odvajamo se planinarskom stazom na širi šumoviti greben koji vodi ka vrhu Kabo. U nastavku staza ide pomenutom šumom a na jednom mjestu se nalazi i lijep vidikovac.

Na izlaku iz šume ulazi se na krševiti znatno strmiji dio pod samim vrhom. Ovaj dio je dužine oko 200m a na nekoliko mjeta je postavljena sajla kao gelender da bi se kretanje dodatno osiguralo. Sa vrha se pruža lijep pogled na Orjen, kompletnu okolinu Trebinja, mnogo planina u Crnoj Gori i Hercegovini pa sve do ostrva u Dalmaciji.

Nakon vrha Kabo, nastavljamo dalje grebenom ka Šišavcima. U početku nas čeka najteži dio gdje je potrebno oprezno kretanje jer se prelazi uski stjenoviti greben u dužini 200 metara. Nakon ovog dijela staza postaje pitomija ali do vrha Šišavaca morate savladati nekoliko kota, tj na par mjesta ćete gubiti visinu ali predjeli kojima ćete ići vas nikako neće obeshrabriti jer se prolazi lijep greben obrastao divnim primjercima Crnog bora.

Na vrhu će vas dočekati zaobljena travnata glavica sa postavljenim stubom i putokaznim tablama.

This beautiful trail is ideal for those who want to start exploring Orjen and don't know where to start. The length of the tour is 10 km, and about 700 meters of ascent is overcome. The path is easy, medium and difficult under the Kabo peak. Additional caution is also required after the 200-meter-long Kabo peak, because a narrow rocky ridge exposed in some places is to be overcome.

Let's start from the beginning:

There is no ascent for the first 1.4 km, and in that part the trail leads on a macadam road from the Mountaineer's dom, we pass a couple of cottages and then cross a meadow to join the asphalt road that passes through the upper field of the Ubal plateau, follow that road for 500 meters, then turn right onto a macadam road through meadows. After that part, the road enters a dense pine forest where the ascent begins. After 500m on the road through the forest, we take a hiking trail to a wider wooded ridge that leads to the top of Kabo. In the continuation of the trail, it goes through the aforementioned forest, and at one point there is a nice viewpoint.

At the exit from the forest, you enter the rugged, much steeper part under the very top. This section is about 200m long, and a cable has been placed at several points as a handrail to further ensure movement. From the top there is a beautiful view of Orjen, the entire surroundings of Trebinje, many mountains in Montenegro and Herzegovina and all the way to the islands in Dalmatia.

After the summit of Kabo, we continue along the ridge towards Šišavci. At the beginning, the most difficult part awaits us, where careful movement is necessary because we cross a narrow rocky ridge 200 meters long. After this part, the trail becomes tamer, but to the top of Šišavac you have to overcome several elevations, i.e. you will lose height in a few places, but the areas you will go through will not discourage you because you pass a beautiful ridge overgrown with wonderful examples of black pine.

At the top, you will be greeted by a rounded grassy head with a post and signposts.
