Itinerary description
An easy 6 kilometre hike on good paths with lots of shade. The walk commences at the Manzanillal roundabout and proceeds in a southerly direction. The first 300 metres of the track are strewn with garbage, but this does improve enormously after that point.
The two tunnels refer to the routes beneath the Morelia-Uruapan highway; both are interesting structures. This major transport route has little impact on the pleasantness of the walk.
I have classified this as moderate, as some of the party believed the downward section was extremely slippy, and one walker slit her knee open. It would probably not be a great route in the rainy season.
