Itinerary description
“Two Elk”- The Great Greta & Gretchen Hike - This hike is rated moderate to difficult in the Vail Hiker. Distance: 11 miles; elevation gain: 2,300 feet. Time: approx. 6 hours. There is one steep section where 1600 feet are gained in 1.8 miles. We will start the hike near the top of Vail Pass (we will arrange for shuttle drivers to drop us off - avoiding the long boring old Route 6 bike path to get there). We will finish the hike in Minturn at the shooting range - about 2 miles south of the Minturn Cemetery.
