Itinerary description
This is a great hike for getting a view of Lake Pedder and Lake Gordon and all the surrounding peaks, as well as Ted's Beach campground and Lake Pedder Wilderness Lodge. Very good to do to get a sense of perspective of the area.
The trail is easy to walk in the sense that most of it is a gravel road (don't let that put you off - the views are great). But at the top you veer off at a small white cairn and then it is a normal bushwalking trail.
You need some fitness to manage the ascent and descent - the wilderness lodge classify this trail as easy, but moderate is a more realistic description.
While we were at the top we wandered off trail a bit - this is also recorded, but I can't say the views were better or that this is necessary. Just stick to the trail and you'll be very satisfied.
It is windy at the top, be warned!
