Itinerary description
About 10km altogether (from the town back to the town). Initially shallow gradient incline and easy gravel road, then a narrow footpath around the hill into the saddle with an elevation of 250m. You can get views to the north small islands from here. To go down the north side, you gain amazing views of the hanging valley, but it is very steep and tricky underfoot for about 500m. The trail becomes a narrow footpath again following the curve of the mountain westwards towards the hanging lake (one sheep gate to climb over). Skirt around the hanging lake, over another sheep fence and then a (hidden) gulley must be climbed with loose rocks / small boulders, kind of a scramble but not too bad. At the top is 275m and then you rejoin the old trail in the saddle.
