Itinerary description
This trail is unofficial but the description can be found on rutrails.org. It’s still not marked, which makes it sometimes difficult to find the right path.
In order to get to the trailhead by public transport take a metro to Mitino station (1st carriage from the center), exit 3. Go straight to the 1st big road crossing, cross the road to the opposite side and turn right there.
The trail begins as a stroll in a park with a lot of ppl around however after the parking lot which is used by those coming to the beach, the trail becomes quite deserted.
We started our hike pretty late, that’s why we didn’t make the trail in full as it’s recommended and continued the last part along tarmac road as it had more light in the dusk. At the end of the trail we took a taxi but if you continue the "official" way, you may take a commuter train back to the city.
TERRAIN: mostly narrow and wide forest paths, and tarmac road at the end. Easy ups and downs.
The are a lot of fallen trees in the wood, be extra vigilant as some of them are still leaning and may fall. It seems that nobody cares much unfortunately.
SEASON: warm and dry time is better as all the small side paths you have to take are quite visible, in winter they maybe difficult to find. As well there are lower areas and swamps which will be pretty muddy after rains and in spring/autumn .
SIGNS: no any signs. There are some color marks on the trees but to my mind they indicate different single parts of various trails but not the trail as a whole.
KIDS: walkable with kids of any age. No prams for the whole route.
