Itinerary description
The ruins at Tulum are something else. When you have visited a number of ruin sites at the Yucatan peninsula you think you have visited them all, that's until you stumble upon Tulum that is. This site is pretty small, but actually very nice as the design and the architecture of the site are really well done. In a tropical setting the visitor is led through the different ruins as wel as some beach viewings.
As Tulum is also a popular resort I sometimes got the impression I was part of the Baywatch set that is recording their next movie over there. This makes the place also quite crowded, but this is reflected in the entrance fee which is quite cheap. I would recommend visiting the ruins when you're in the neighbourhood, but take into account that it's also very touristy. It really is something else!
