Itinerary description
We revised one of our favorite hikes to the Dajti plateau, to take advantage of some trail development and remove some strain out of the return path.
This is a varied alternative for climbing the Dajti Plateau. The hike starts at the village of Tujan, climbs up to the mountain station of the cable car, takes another path down the escarpment to Sherbimi, and returns to Tujan village.
The bonus is lunch and beers at the Balkoni i Dajtit restaurant. This accounts for the total travel time of 7 hours. Without much rest, the loop can be travelled in 4 hours.
The trails are not as frequently travelled as they should, and tend to be overgrown. We cleared some growth on our way up to Dajti, and also found the way down very nicely cleared (in September 2011).
