Itinerary description
Start at Tsing Yi MTR and walk through the pleasant park (or take a bus) to get to Cheung Ching bus terminus. Go up the tarmac road to find the steep steps opposite the public toilet. The steps are steep but soon turn into a well marked path that leads up past burial tombs with better and better views of Hong Kong container port, Hong Kong, Kowloon, and Tai Mo Shan. Sam Chi Heung has three peaks, it is the last one that is the highest with the best views, and in fact there are even better views to be had by going a bit further down the north slope. Return the way you came or take an alternative route down (as seen in the map here) for nice views of the Lantau bridge, and Castle Peak in the background.
