Itinerary description
This trail leads to Tsaghkunyats lake ( Ծաղկունյաց լիճ ) which is a mountainous lake through the Tsaghkunyats mountain range ( Ծաղկունյաց լեռներ ) , Aragatsotn province.
" Aghveran loop " or " Flowering lake loop " called trail is close to Yerevan, so it's perfect for those who want a fantastic moderate hike near the city.
--- The whole trail affords a fantastic view of the Tsaghkuntats range, mighty Teghenis and other summits, which, btw, are very close to the trail and available if you have more time and wish to make a hike longer and more challenging.
--- We hiked up by the left path and hiked down by the right one, but if you ask me it's better to do the other way round (it's better to go up by steep parts than going down when I choose)
--- The most of the most season for this trail is April, MAY (especially May), June.
--- Starting from July it's getting hot in there, vegetation gets dried up till October, after the middle of November till April the trail can be snow-blocked (depends on a season). But it's also a good destination for winter hikes if you are fond of snow.
--- The length of the trail is 11 km.
--- The trail is blazed, so it will help you to get to the destination a lot, but don't forget about GPS to be on the safe side.
--- Near the lake you are going to meet shepherd dogs, they might bark and run to you but whenever I get there, they get calm and playful, never meet an angry dog, anyway, be aware and never go there with other dogs.
