Itinerary description
Tsaghkadzor - Bjni trail is a long hike through the mountains and forests close to Yerevan city (40 mim driving), Armenia.
You start the hike from Tsaghkadzor outskirts and head to 9th century Bjni medieval fortress ruins ( Բջնի բերդ ), in Bjni village.
Some information about this trail:
--- The hike starts from closed hotel building "palace" at the end of Tsaghkadzor town.
--- First part of the hike you walk through the forest, it's mainly hiking up till the mid of the trail.
--- You follow mainly geep tracks all the way of the hike and only last km to the fort is downgrade with no path.
--- It's better to start from Tsaghkadzor and head to Bjni as the opposite direction is more challenging.
--- The trail is not blazed, so be very careful not to turn off the trail as we did in 1-2 sections.
--- When you get to Bjni fort, you need to buy tickets to enter there (500 AMD).
--- SEASON
Season starts here from mid May till November (till snow).
Mid May, June is the best for greenery and temperature, July, August, September is quite hot and dry(not recommended), October and November are about golden lands, colorful fall (usually mid October) and comfy temperature.
