Itinerary description

Habio Waterfall & Rincon Waterfalls

A scenic waterfall tumbling from the foothills of Mt. El Tucuche is Habio .Located deep inside the Rincon Valley, it is the third tallest waterfall at approximately 200 feet .There are two main routes to access the falls the first is a uphill trek from Rincon Village in Las Cuevas ,while the second route is from the El Tucuche Bench Road in Acono, Maracas St .Joseph .Unlike any other Habio is a sprinkle type falls with numerous overflows cascading on the rocks. It is best explored in the rainy season where the water levels are at it's fullest. At the base there is a small plunge pool suitable for bathing or there is the option to escalate the rocks for a refreshing shower.

The expedition starts at the horse farm in Acono and the ascent to the El Tucuche Bench Road will take 1 1/2 hours. The trail passes through several rejuvenating streams and old cocoa estates before advancing to the area known as the Rest Hut. At this point hikers can re-group to begin their descend into the Rincon Valley towards the falls.
