Itinerary description
We started this walk in the "Estacionamento do Parque das Serras" hence giving a shorter trail of 6.3 kms.
A simple trail for the first half of the walk taking you nicely along beside the "Rio Ferreira", with some beautiful views of the water racing by., before crossing the river with a road bridge.
Following the river course back on the other side you start to wind your way up and follow the river around (carefully) before descending to the small suspension bridge.
Passing by the ruins of water mills you then climb steeply up past the "Fraga do Castelo" , used for rope climbing by Valongo Climbing Center, before descending on a track/road back to the start of the trail.
Only because of the climb in the final part, the trail is rated Moderate.
