The first half out of Ribeira Quente goes up through a dense tropical Forrest of plants with plenty of variety and tops out for some great views over local peaks and high fields. It’s well worth the effort and very rewarding. The second part of the return loop past the road half way was impassable as it was heavily overgrown so we had to return the same way. We passed a team clearing some of pathway so it may be open soon. Our walk date August 14th 2019. Take care on the wooden bridges, one of them broke and one of our team ended up falling into the river but luckily landed on a tree so did not fall all the way down and ended up with cuts and bruises.
