First stop on the Triglav trekking in Slovenia with departure and arrival in Stara Fuzina.
4 days of trekking for about 50km with about 2,800-3,000 m of positive elevation gain and overnight stays in 3 mountain huts.
Tips / Advice:
- in August it is advisable to book shelters in advance given the high number of people
- bring a sheet bag with you even if the shelters always provide a bed linen kit on site
- the paths are all traced and marked with white and red round stamps. A map of the Alpi Giulie group is recommended to get an idea
- the most difficult sections are all equipped with steel cables and when there is no protection there are short climbing passages of I and II degree
- in general the route can be optimized in 3 days but the km and the overall height difference per stage must be considered, requiring a more than good physical preparation
- considering the parking costs from stara fuzina which in August are 12 euros a day! Many take the bus from the Valley but you have to plan the starting bases. You can ask for info at the local tourist offices.
Path:
From stara fuzina, once parked the car, follow the road towards Slap Mostnica and then Velo Polje.
From the valley it begins to climb a strenuous and steep climb on a wide road that practically climbs the first rocky bastion between a thick and beautiful bush.
After the climb you come to an obvious clearing and then return to the woods and climb up more gently.
The entire route crosses a thick bush. Always follow the red and white way points and the "vodnikov dom" signs written on the stones or on the signs.
You finally arrive at the end of the path and the bush when the "Velo Polje" valley opens up on the left with the Vodnikov Dom refuge at the end of the path.
