We start our mountain adventure in Slovenia, at Lake Bohinj. We chose this route because it is circular, includes the route of the 7 lakes and the climb to Triglav. You need to book the shelters in advance because they are very full. It can be done easily on the Internet at Alps Online.
To begin with, it is necessary to explain a little how to do it if you go by car, because it is complicated since there are not many places to leave it. We slept at the Park Bohinj Zlatorog campsite, which does not have defined plots and does not require reservations. You can leave the tent set up for €10 a day while you do the route, but not the car. We took the car to the parking lot of the famous Slap Savica waterfall, next to the Koča pri Savica refuge, where we started the route, for €10 per day. The rest of the car parks in the area are €3 per hour and do not allow overnight stays.
Another possibility is to sleep at the Savica refuge and leave the car there. Then we also saw that there are free buses that go to Stara Fuzina and the refuge.
If you do the route like us, the first stage is not too long and I recommend visiting the Slap Savica jump before you start. It is paid but well worth it.
They start to climb a path very well marked by red and white dots, surrounded by pine forests full of moss and ferns. Impressive! It is a steep path that climbs steeply, passing natural rock steps. Is there any step equipped with steps, cable etc. but in general there is no difficulty if you are used to mountain climbing. If you feel dizzy some step has quite a patio.
A little while after starting you will see that we have detoured to go see the birth of the Slap Savica is curious and in my opinion worth it, but the water jump is not voice. Further up we will pass by the Črno Jezero lake, the first of the 7 that we will see. And already arriving at the refuge by lake Dvojno Jezero 1676m, the second lake.
From here you can make a simple excursion to climb the Mala Ticarica, signposted before arriving at the refuge. We couldn't do it because of the weather but we were told that it offers magnificent views.
One last thing, the shelter does not have a shower.
I hope you like the route and if you do, let me know what you think and if anything needs to be changed. Thanks!!
Health and legs!!
