TREKKING CERRO BONIFACIO POR VEREDAS CAMARGO y CAMPOALEGRE.

TREKKING "SAINT BONIFACIO HILL" THROUGH CAMARGO and CAMPOALEGRE. Carmen de Viboral (Antioquia)
This trail has as a great prize: the incredible view of the Altiplano in eastern Antioquia, unforgettable and unique!
The San Bonifacio hill is located at El Carmen de Viboral (Antioquia), a municipality located 1h20min from the city of Medellín, by an excellent road.
The meeting place was the main square of El Carmen, and from there we headed along Avenue 33 towards the "Vereda Camargo", from where the ascent to the hill begins. This ascent is classified with a difficulty level of 4 (on a scale of 1 to 5), since its route includes complicated sections through the Andean forest, steep and demanding slopes, and very technical descents. It is necessary to bring adequate hydration and be accompanied by a guide who knows the area, since it is possible to get lost in the thicket.
At the top of the hill: ¡The view! In a 180° view, is possible to see the municipality of La Ceja, the "Corcovado hill", the mountains that overlook the municipality of La Unión, the municipality of Rionegro, corregimiento of San Antonio de Pereira, and the municipality of El Carmen de Viboral. It really is worth the effort! The photographs do not honor the beauty of the site.
We made the descent along the face of the hill that leads to "Vereda CampoAlegre", and from there we headed back to the main park.
Trail made on the eve of Raquel Juliana's 22nd birthday!
