Itinerary description
Hike from Pugao to Aichu (the mushroom village) trough the rice terraces and coming back by road.
Paved road, small villages, but also paths around the rice terraces and the forest.
From Pugao we follow the main road to Houzizhai, where we take an street down to the temple, Duoyishu and rices terraces.
The path around the rice terraces is narrow but easy to follow. But when the track goes into the forest it desapears and you just need to follow the right direction with the GPS. I added more waypoints in this area to make easier following the way.
It is a short distance a you will feel absorbed in the landscape. Once the forest finish you are again in the terraces, you cross a brook with an small waterfall and you find the stony path that rises to Aichu. There are public toilets and an small restaurant in Aichu.
The track stars and finish in the hotel where I stayed in Pugao.
I stayed in Yuanyang only for one day and half, so the first day I did a trip with a private car organized in the hotel from the morning to the sunset, going to the main view points around Yanyuang area, and for the second day I had to be back in the hotel at midday so I follow the track “Yuanyang full day trek” by Florence R, but coming back to the main road in Aichu...with more time it would be great to follow this full track but this one is a good option if you have less time or you want to do a shorter one.
There was so much fog this day...fortunately the day before when I did the trip in the car around weather was better.
I needed 3 hours and half, because I had to arrive early, but you will need at less four or five if you stop more often for pictures, eating...

Very beautiful walk. Warmly suggested to follow the clockwise circuit cause some routes are quite hard to catch in the other way
