After yesterday's experience with the mountain gorillas, today it is time to change places in Ugandan territory, and unlike the other trips, this time we will do it by making a crossing, which will border a part of the Bwindi National Park, and will take us to our next destination, the Chameleon Hill Lodge, next to Lake Mutanda.
On this occasion with two local guides, one in front and one behind who will take us all the time heading south, until at the height of the village of Mushongero, we will make a sudden change of direction, to finish the last kilometer and a half heading northwest. During the crossing, we pass through several villages, through an area of the river where three gold prospectors tell us how lucky they were yesterday and today to find some nugget in the river, and through multiple farmlands where potatoes predominate. , taro, sorbo and papyrus. In the final part, and when we begin to see the Mutanda lake, we verify that the means of subsistence in the area is rather the fish of the lake, than the subsistence agriculture that we have been seeing in the many hundreds of kilometers that we have done through Uganda, and that tomorrow we will complement with the crossing of this beautiful lake in the boats used by the fishermen themselves, and which consist of the hollowed-out trunk of the large eucalyptus trees in this area. In the end, fifteen kilometers of a beautiful walk, in which we sparkled for a short stretch, but which was very worth it, both for the landscapes, as for the people and especially children who are always willing to meet and play. .

Hola sextante !
Saludos
