Date of the excursion: 07/07/2018
We begin our journeys through the Romanian Carpathians with this route that goes from the Refugio or cabin of Poiana Neamtului to the Cabaña de Negoiu, passing through the shelter or cabin of Barcací
- ACCESS TO THE START POINT:
We have to get there in our car or take us by taxi to Poiana Neamtului shelter, which is accessed by road that although it is narrow has good firm.
For this, whether we come from the town of Sibiu or from the area of Fagarás we have to reach the town of Avrig and from there the small road that leads to the refuge.
- ROUTE:
We start the route from the Poiana Neamtului refuge and we go along a wide track, until at a short distance we have a sign and a detour to the left that already continues practically the whole route in continuous ascent.
We cross a small stream through a wooden bridge and now the route continues for a long time at the top of a hill overlooking both sides, although given the thickness of the forest the views are not too spectacular.
We cross a small meadow and soon we reach the shelter or cabin of Barcaci, where we rest for a while.
There are several routes right next to this cabin. Comment that all these paths are very well marked and each one has a different brand and we find these marks every 10-15 m, so it is very difficult to get lost.
In our case, the route we follow is a red cross on a white background, if we go through the Barcaci hut, we abandon it and take a route marked with a red circle on a white background. I have almost arrived at the Negoiu shelter and shortly before a bridge the route we are following ends and we have to continue on another route marked with a blue vertical strip on a white background.
The cabin I negotiated in the date in which we were reforming it and given the extensive works that were doing, when it is finished it will be very good but in our stay it left a lot to be desired.
