Starting from Solkan (100 m) I went up the Slovenian path "Juzna Pot", and in just under 1 hour I reached the ruins of the San Valentino hermitage. Having gone down the path that cuts down the north-east side of the mountain, I reached a crossroads (278 m) in about 30 minutes, from here I went up, following the "Severna Pot" path, up to the restored war area of the tunnels , dating back to the First World War, to then continue to the top of Mount Sabotino (609 m) in about 40 minutes. For the descent from the Italian side I first followed the CAI 97 trail sign, then a steep track (marked by stone cairns), until I reached the little chapel of Christ, recently restored by volunteers (270 m). Finally I reconnected first with the CAI track and then took the Slovenian path from the outward journey which brought me back to the starting point in about 1 hour from the top. Total times (excluding stops): approximately 3 hours (ascent 1 hour and 30').
