Itinerary description
About 2.7 miles roundtrip starting at the Calcite Mines east of Borrego Springs, CA. Elevation gain is about 1700 feet. It's very steep in places and rocky most of the way. But the views at the top are stunning. Not a summer hike. You will need 4X4 or a very capable 2X to make it to the start point; otherwise, add about 4 miles R/T from the highway.
