Itinerary description
Not much too say, except that there's a lot of changes, over the years, here and there, which I mostly note in each landmarks. Mostly focused on besting my old timing to get to Kor Campsite, also, to look out for whatever it is I've missed, 6, or 7 years ago when I first did Tahan (M2M)
*Campsite Note
There is no leeches here. But there is sandflies and mosquitoes. Everything looks to be the same. Maybe it has widen a bit more, to accommodate more campers. The water from the river, is still safe to be drank directly. However, there's protocols here now. When the campsite is filled to the brim, all washing/showers MUST be done at the second half of the campsite, while the first half is STRICTLY RESERVED for drinking.
Here's our itinerary for Day 6;
06:00 breakfast and packing
07:15 start hike
08:06 Bonsai Campsite
09:13 'V' Hill
09:51 Blumut Campsite
10:54 Kubang Campsite
12:18 Pematang Campsite
13:40 Kor Campsite. Set-up camp
18:00 Dinner
Waypoints
'V' Hill (New)
An unofficial name given by the guides, it's quite unique, due to it being perched at the bottom, in-between 2 steep trails, thus the name 'V'. It has a water source, which is right beside
Blumut Campsite
*No Water Source* 6, or 7 years ago, when I did Tahan (M2M), this campsite was pretty small. Now, trees has been cleared, to accommodate more space for campers. Though the ground is still quite muddy (thus the name), and the only new space provided is only big enough for 5 single-person-tents, the view cutting those trees opens up to. Just wow. You can see Botak Campsite, Mount Tahan and other mountains, on any clear day.
Kubang Campsite
Water Source Available I was too focused on moving on, that I missed a small signs that indicate that there is Water Source here. Could've provided a detailed location. Sigh...
Permatang Campsite
Be sure to check out the Water Source. You won't regret the steep descent. Trust me.
Water Source
Damn crystal clear wei! Worth it! Gotta say, this is the most beautiful water source I've ever seen. Almost tempted to jump in! But, still got a journey to complete
