Itinerary description

With Hardcore Extreme Adventures group

D-Day! Summit Attack! Along the way, the most beautiful, natural wonders, all over. Complete with constant cloud covers, either sweeping through the landscape, or as if you're in it. Windbreaker was on, all the way, including the hoodie. That's how cold and wet it gets. Every single breath felt wet and fresh.
Along the way, to my surprise, we traverse through what I'd call as "Mount Irau's section". A complete workout as you do your best to avoid every single mud-covered path, hoping that you don't plunge your whole feet in it. On and on, till you came close to complete exasperation, hoping that it'll end. But of course, the dreaded section didn't went on forever. And back came those beautiful view that we were enjoying, at first.

*Edit* Not happening. Sticking to original itineraries*
PS: Looks like we'll be going down, all the way to Kuala Juram, instead of stopping for the night at Kor Campsite. This is because this week, the roster is packed full of participants, attempting Mount Tahan via Merapoh. And as our original itineraries notes that we're supposed to stop at Kor Campsite, we'll be packed like sardines. Overheard one guide mentioned by passing that Kor Campsite can easily accommodate up to 200 souls. Nah... We're gonna go all the way, and spend the night at Kuala Juram, awaiting our 4WD back to Ranger's Office in Merapoh

*Campsite Note:
Botak Campsite, is not like how I remembered it, 6 or 7 years ago. It's much more messier now, rubbish everywhere and as rubbish are aplenty, so do rats. So, either plan your trip, carefully, or end up like me, having the campsite filled with closed to 80 souls right now. Lucky for us, we reached here fast, thus we got our pick of locations. But, once it's all filled up, it's like a bloody 'pasar malam', up in here.

Here's our itinerary for Day 5;

07:00 breakfast and packing

08:29 start hike

08:48 Aircraft Site

09:19 Mount Gedung

09:36 Mount Berapit

12:41 Mount Tahan. Rest and lunch

14:30 Botak Campsite. Set-up camp

17:00 dinner

Sadly, filled with graffitis. Apparently, people has zero respect for the dead, nor the history

Initially, I thought that there's no choice but to set up my emergency tarp tent as my shelter, but, apparently the trees here are strong enough now to support hammocks. Nice! Also, it's jam-packed with hikers from Merapoh's side. So, if you didn't get here quick enough, best of luck!
