Itinerary description
With Hardcore Extreme Adventures group
Well. Kinda expected. Right when we're about to start the day's journey, GPS signal failed. For almost an hour, including a few massive, deep and strong rivers, weren't being able to be recorded. All I have is backup photos, including timestamp, to mark our progress. Sigh..
Nonetheless, today is only 6km (+/-). But of course, with GPS receptions gone kaput, it recorded instead what it did
Anyway, upon reading today's itineraries, one can simply think that it's an easy one. Boy oh boy. Numerous river crossings, including SEVEN massive rivers, with very strong current, waist to chest deep, was on the menu. Also, it's a very technical hike, which involves trekking through steep, narrow, sharp-as-hell stones and boulders (made a joke with a fellow participant, that if he wants a full makeover, feel free to drop on his face, on one of this treacherous stones), by the edge of the cliff/riverbanks. It was a full workout navigating through these dangerous path, and at the same time maintaining a steady pace. Phew!
*Yup. It's a wet, wet one. Better get yourself 2 hiking sticks, instead of one, coz it would help you, tremendously.
*Campsite Note: It's a LEECH HAVEN! And, pretty humid, too, at least until 23:00
Here's our Day 3 itineraries
07:00 breakfast and packing
08:15 start hike. 7 big river crossings, including some smaller ones, but equally as dangerous
11:45 Teku Campsite (leech haven). Lunch & set-up camp
16:00 dinner
18:00 briefing for Day 03

River
618 ft
3-Lane-Highway-Wide River
Before crossing this river, there is the widest river, I've ever seen. We crossed that first, before this river. Imagine football-field-wide, goalpost to goalpost. Not forgetting, every single one is deep, littered with slippery stones. And the current, can easily swept you away. I came prepared with 2 hiking sticks, so that helps tremendously.
