Respect!
Hi dawn. The first stop, a river with big boulders, is it Sg Durian Campsite? TIA!
Yes, Kem Sg Durian
Yeay. Eric and gang (including me), we'll be using your map, this Saturday. It may be a 2d1n trip, since nobody used this trail, for almost 2 years, meaning that there will be loads of chopping. But also, hoping that it's clear enough, to push through, and make it a daypack. Wish us luck!
My friends went Trans Slim last year 23/11/2021, trail was covered by overgrown vegetation (nasty thorn etc) from the first river all the way until Liang Peak… 13hours became 30hours nightmare cos a lot of chop2. But recently a lot ppl went Tumang Batak, so Tumang Batak onwards to Liang should be clear. Wish u guys all the BEST !!!
We'll be starting from the other side, like you, in 2018. Yeah, heard that as well. Very recently, a team of Malay hikers managed to push through, all the way. Nonetheless, thanks!
Since a team managed to push through, then the trail should be better n clearer, ALL THE BEST 🙌
👋 Michael how’s your Trans Slim ? U went w Joyce Teo? Saw her posting at FB today
Phew..... Your original trail, according to your map, helped a bit. Most sections are completely closed, either by landslide, fallen trees, or thick vegetations. And the team that went in, 2 or 3 weeks earlier, didn't do much. They left most sections of their own trail, unmarked. We wasted hours, tryin to find a way. If you look closely at my tracking, you'll notice at a lot of these sections, we spent quite some times, trying to get back on trail. As I said, your old tracking, helped a bit. That team uses/open their own trail, but never share online, or anywhere. And the markings that they did leave, is very confusing. Nonetheless, we did our best, for the rest, and left fresh ribbons, as best as we can, every 500m.
Wow, very kind of you guys 👍👍👍
Well, it's only ethical. The forest belongs to all, so, it would made sense that we contributed, a bit. At least, whoever goes in, after this, wouldn't waste so much time and energy, trying to find their way. We all, did what we could.
Also, a good thing I did my research, on each stops there is, including water sources. And, I've marked every sections along the trail, in my tracking. Check it out.
Well done 🙏🏻😇
Yeah. Ended up spending 29h22m on trail, including 1.5h of power nap. Robert Thong, Joyce Teo and I pushed, all the way. The rest had to stop and rest, in-between TB and Camp Dengkur, from 2am to 5am. They ended up spending about 35h on trail.
Salute 💪💪💪
