The Trans Pennine Trail (TPT) is an interesting route for walkers, cyclists and riders linking the North and the Irish Sea, passing through the Apennines, and through some of the country's most historic cities and northern cities. England. It extends largely along disused railway lines and service roads of navigable canals. It forms part of the European route E8 and forms part of the National Cycle Tourism Network as Route 62.

The Sheffield & Tinsley Canal is a good example of an industrial channel that has found a new life. Victoria Quays, in Sheffield, has regenerated and is now a bustling beachfront destination with restaurants, bars, a hotel and a gym. The Sheffield & Tinsley Canal found fame on the big screen in 1997, appearing in the opening scenes of the comedy film The Full Monty.

This route that starts from the regenerated heart of Sheffield urban reaches the town of Tinsley and offers a fascinating perspective of this former industrial area. Several locks mark the canal, although today it has no commercial use and no goods are transported, if we can see numerous barges converted into houses along the canal. If you are a fisherman, this could be the channel for you, with fishing areas in several sections that constantly offer opportunities for a good catch.
