Itinerary description
Mount Tahan (Malay: Gunung Tahan), is the highest point in Peninsular Malaysia with an elevation of 7,175 ft (2,187 m) above sea level. It is located within the Taman Negara national forest, in the state of Pahang. The mountain is part of the Tahan Range in the Tenaserim Hills and is popular with local climbers.

🔹A day before....
Chartered 10 seated van transferred from Penang to Gua Musang. Overnight at M Quality Hotel and get ready for tomorrow hike.
Next day morning, van transferred to Sungai Relau Renjer Office.

Sungai Relau to Kem Kor
Sungai Relau Renjer Office 🚜 ➡️ Kuala Juram ➡️ Kuala Luis ➡️ Lata Luis ➡️ Kem Kor 🏕️
◾ Transfer by 4WD from Sungai Relau to Kuala Juram after items declaration
◽Hike from Kuala Juram to Kem Kor in 4.5 hours. Crossings 7 rivers.
◾ Mostly ascending all the way.
◽ Overnight at Kem Kor, water point available, can shower. Freezing cold.
🔹Day 02: Monday, 02 May 2022 🔹
Kem Kor to Kem Botak
Kem Kor ➡️ Permatang ➡️ Kem Kubang ➡️ Berlumut ➡️ Bonsai ➡️ Kem Botak 🏕️
◾ Longest & toughest hike.
◽ About 10 hours.
◾ Mostly ascending and go thru berlumut trail... Weather: Sunny & Raining while on the way to Kem Botak
◽ Overnight at Kem Botak, water point available, extreme cold at night (coolest campsite)

Bukit Botak to Kem Gedung
Kem Botak ➡️ Gunung Tahan ➡️ Kem Gedung 🏕️
◾ The only day with beautiful scenery, surrounded by mountains.
◽ 8.5 hours for 6.58 KM (10 KM)
◾ Weather: Sunny.
◽ Overnight at Kem Gedung, water point available, shower okay but very far about 15 minutes one way
🔹 Day 04: Wed, 04 May 2022 🔹
Kem Gedung to Kem Teku
Kem Gedung ➡️ Gunung Reskit ➡️ Gunung Tangga 15 ➡️ Gunung Pangkin ➡️ Kem Teku 🏕️
◾ Can you Tahan Pacat (leeaches)??? Campsite full of leeches.
◽About 10 hours of hike for 12.07 km (14KM), up and down & went thru 10 aluminium ladders. Tough day
◾ Weather: Sunny. Descend from 1800 meter to 200 meter. Campsite hot & humid
◽ Overnight at Kem Teku, water point available.
🔹 Day 05: Thurs, 05 May 2022 🔹
Kem Teku to Kem Tengah
Kem Teku ➡️ Kem Kuala Puteh ➡️ Gunung Rajah ➡️ Kem Tengah 🏕️
◾Up and down over 27 small hills and mountains. Start our jouney early morning than usual at 7am
◽ 10 hours of hike for 13.8KM (11 KM)
◾ Weather: Sunny
◽ Overnight at Kem Tengah, humid and hot weather at night. Water point available, can't shower. 5 minutes from campsite.

Kem Tengah to Lata Berkoh
Kem Tengah ➡️ Crossing 7 rivers ➡️ Bukit Mengah ➡️ Kem Melantai ➡️ Lata Berkoh 🏕️
◾ 7 rivers crossing
◽ Hike about 9.36 KM in 7.5 hours
◾ Weather: Sunny
◽ Overnight at Lata Berkoh (shelter), water point available (big river). Nice place for shower
🔹 Day 07: Saturday, 07 May 2022 🔹
Lata Berkoh to Kuala Tahan
Lata Berkoh ➡️ Boat Riding 🛶 ➡️ Kuala Tahan Jetty
◾ Last day of trip, back by Boat.
◽ Boat riding took about 45 minutes
◾ Weather: Sunny
◽ First time experience riding this type of boat. Enjoy so much for the ride although only less than an hour. Lifetime experience.
🔹The day after....
Once reaching Kuala Tahan jetty, directly check in Agosto Hostel for 1 night stay.
Next day morning van transferred back to Penang at 11am.
