Itinerary description
When we did North and Middle Sugarloaf, we crossed a logging road / snowmobile trail shortly after when the Sugarloaf trail diverged from the Trestle trail. We wanted to see just where it went, so today was the day.
It turned out to me more of a logging trail than snowmobile trail although the snowmobile trails chris-crossed it. We saw a really nice trail that clearly was a snowmobile trail so we wanted to see just where it went. The trail was really nice. I'm guessing it was once a railway track in the old days. It follows the river towards Twin Mtn. Since this is a sled trail, there are few blowdowns - its a great "walk in the woods". We saw bear droppings and a Great Blue Heron in a beaver pond. When we returned, we took the Trestle Trail back to the car. There are more trails in this general area we'd like to explore.
