Itinerary description
Staying in Coconuco I first thought there is nothing to do apart from the thermal bath but actually the nature around this calm and authentic village is amazing.
So I ask around and found three tracks I would like to share with you.
First as most of the people are coming to Coconunco for the thermal bath, here the way the one which is actually closer to the village and as well cheaper (costs 10 000 p.p. in August 2016). It is open all day long so you if you are with a car, or take a taxi back down you can enjoy the warm water in the night time watching the stars.
Walking the trail up is a bit exhausting but not hard. At some points you will maybe meet some dogs which take their job, protecting the house, a bit too serious.
Going up you will see on the left side a waterfall and there is a small bath to go to the bottom of it. As well you have some nice viewpoints where you can take good look down at the village. The downside is that you will be walking in the street all the time.
Sorry, I have no idea why its not possible to change the time but it will take about 3 hours to go up and down.
As I stayed in one hostel with an amazingly nice lady called Sandra, I highly recoment to try her arepas which she is selling every day in the street after four o`clock. They are not expensive and tast great with some warm aqua with panela ;).
