Itinerary description

I can't recall the last time I did the fire line.

Actually I do, thanks to my knee history, it was back in June-22, when I went there to try and see if my knee had the problem. So exactly after two years.
It has become pretty popular every since. Back in the day, no one would go there. Once we suggested fire line to a group of people for descend and as we crossed path with them on our way back, they were not happy with us.

Like last year took metro to it's last stop of secretariate. It is a 20 minutes walk from there to the trail 5 parking and all the time you just think about the walk to and from the parking. There was almost no traffic on the road. But the parking was full of cars. i was surprised as it was a pretty hot day. But most of the families and people either walk the plain area or hike till the ficus spring which is all shady area.

I wanted to try a direct route from Margalla road but since the road was blocked from Constitution avenue and onwards so i could not try that one.

About the trail, It was well maintained I would say. Even though they try to take all the packaged food from you, yet there were wrappers and especially water bottles. Back in the day, I rarely saw trash there. It was Sunday afternoon in May so was hot but a little wind provided the needed relief aided by the fact that it was a ridge trail.

If you want a secluded hike which is demanding, risky and rewarding, do try this one.
However there is no way out till you reach the junction of the trails.

And remember followings.

1. There is no way out till you reach the junction of the trails.
2. There is no water at all.
3. Overall the trail is pretty steep.
4. A very small part of it is especially risky as along with being steep there are often dried leaves there, which make it very slippery.
5. Views are spectacular like trail 3's fire line.

Walk back to Metro was pleasant as it was almost dark. Kids were playing cricket in the park and parking. it was a good day.
