Itinerary description
Took the cable car (Almancay and Diente del Cuablo). The trail goes steeply up then behind the mountains to reveal an outstanding view. It’s then a traverse to Frey. The traverse is an easy and fun scramble, all well marked.
We were going quickly and it took us 2 hrs 45 mins from the top of the lift to Refugio Frey, then just over two hours to descend down the normal track to Catedral car park.
Stunning walk, I would highly recommend it. Mainly downhill so no big climbs, not too strenuous, the scramble might be tougher without experience.
