Itinerary description
You park the car just on the side of the road, near the bridge.
Walk on the asphalt road direction Baskinta with Nahr El Kaleb river on your right.
After 500 m you will see a LMT sign, leave the main road and take your right downhill.
You will stay on LMT section 12 (Kfadebian - Baskinta) for the most of the trail.
Once near the river, cross the bridge and go on the other side.
Stay on the dirt road for 1.5 km walking between agricultural lands with apple, pear, peach, wallnuts, fig ... it is the right timing for such areas hehe enjoying the fruits :))
After that, you reach another bridge to cross and take your left uphill right after the new guest houses.
Stay on the LMT and you will reach again the main road passing by Baatouta till you get to Bekaatet El Nahr.
At 6 km from starting point you leave again the main road and take your left.
You walk between agricultural lands than enter a pine forest. From there you will have green metal leaders to climb with beautiful vegetation. You will pass by water canals and some old houses.
At some times, it is a bit tricky to find your way but you will manage it. Not that difficult.
At 8 km from starting point you will reach a very beautiful area with awesome rock formations, small waterfall that you have to pass behind it and continue your hike. I had some rest there and enjoyed the place.
The trail takes you uphill again and you will encounter the LMT signs again. Follow them.
You will be walking on dirt roads till you reach the big metal cross with a panoramic view over Bqaatouta and parts of Kesserwan and Metn. On clear days, you can see the Mediterranean Sea.
For the last 3.5 km the trail leads you downhill till you reach back the car.
I love the area and trail. My best hikes are the ones with water (rivers, lakes ...) involved.
I would say it is an easy to moderate hike and could be done easily in all 4 seasons.
Enjoy and keep it clean !!!
PS: Respect Nature and stay on the trail. Cheers.

Hello is it possible to do it with a dog? Considering the metal stairs?
Hello Souad. I did it with my dog but he is used to climb stairs. At first I had to carry him and it was very tricky but after he can do it alone.

Very nice trail!
Thanks Tony for sharing it.
Note that in the river you have to pass to the right after the canal and that to climb the stairs you have to pay 200,000LL
I will be giving this trail a try today. Any ideas if the trail is still clear or I might end up getting lost? 😂
Enjoy Maya and stay safe :)))
