Itinerary description
2 days trek in the Jalq’a villages. Landscapes there are beautiful, very colorful.
We start from Chataquila. To go there from Sucre, you can take a microbus there : -19.030554, -65.255781
15Bs per person, it goes to Potolo but you can ask to stop in Chataquila. Hours may vary, we take our around 9:30am.
1st day we walk until Maragua, and we slept there. You have few accommodations, we choose Samary Wasi. The place is very nice and cosy, and the owner Juan Carlos the nicest guy ever. It's 85Bs per person for the night, supper and breakfast, and it worth it. There is even a hot shower!
2nd day from Maragua to Potolo, to catch the bus there to go back to Sucre. We took our around 3:30pm and apparently it was the last of the day (again, it may vary). 12Bs per person.
To finish, 3 warnings about this trek :
1 - Beware of stray dogs, some will be aggressive
2 - We lost the path near Niñu Mayu (you can see that in the gpx trace). I would advice to find a better option that what we did, because ours was tiring, a bit steep and probably not doable during the rainy season. If you can, use Google Maps, it seems more updated than the rest there.
3 - The beginning of the return road from Potolo to Sucre is very steep (narrow mountain track very high), it can be very scary !
