Itinerary description

Your route starts with a cup of coffee at Oostappen Holiday Park Slot Cranendonck. You can taste the history in the authentic Kempen landscape against the Belgian border. In various places you will come across the age-old traces of Norbertines and Trappists. At bicycle junction 217 you can enjoy the old, restored abbey De Achelse Kluis. The Trappist beer Achel is brewed here in our own brewery. You cycle through De Malpie with its many large and small fens. Water mill De Venbergsemolen became the ban mill of the Norbertine Priory of Postel in 1331: local residents were obliged to grind their grain there and part of the proceeds went to the priory. The Leenderbos is a popular living environment for many animals. You will also discover the nice authentic hamlet of Leenderstrijp!

St.-Benedictusabdij - De Achelse Kluis

The Achelse Kluis has been a place where people settle for prayer and spirituality for centuries. Even today, there are still people who go here for peace and internalization. De Kluis is located on the border of North Brabant (NE) and North Limburg (BE) on the banks of the Warmbeek (BE) / Tongelreep (NE). The beer that is brewed in the Kluis is one of the few that can call itself Trappist beer, because there are only 11 beers that can bear this title.
