Itinerary description

One of the most beautiful areas I've been to in Tosohatchee. It meanders through different ecosystems. Hardwoods, grassy clearings, Bald Cypress areas, ferns, moss. An enjoyable easy hike on well maintained trails.

Crossroads

The Florida Trail intersects the Swamp Spur Trail here. Take a left to go North toward the Youth Camp. Take a right to the South and you'll hook up with the Tiger Branch Trail.

Cypess Trees

There are some big old Cypress trees in this area. Lots of Cypress knees as well.

Parking

At Parking Area 4 you will find two trailheads, Swamp Spur, and Tiger Branch. This is a good spot for a picnic as there is a picnic table here. Tiger Branch has been Wikiloc'd by Tom Choma.

Swamp Spur Trail End

I'd venture to say, this area feeds more water into James Creek.
