Itinerary description
Torres del Paine is one of the most popular trek destinations in Chile and "W" is the most popular trek there. This is a description of this trek done in reverse order - starting from glacier Grey and finishing at the Torres. Doing it this way makes it slightly easier, allows you to witness the Torres during the sunrise and put a pressure on you on the last day to catch a ferry which goes only once a day.
Day 2, Valle del Frances: Starting early in the morning we go with all our stuff to campamento Italiano which is located in the beginning of the Valle del Frances, there we set up a camp and go for a hike along the french valley with only a bottle of water (and some lunch). Be sure to stop at the Mirador Valle del Frances and enjoy the ever cracking glacier Frances (from a distance it sounds like a thunderstorm coming your way). The trail continues all the way up to Mirador Britanico and ends there (the rest of the trail is closed). There we turn back and return to camp. Overall it is the easiest day of the trek.
