Itinerary description
Walk from Paine Grande campsite to Italiano ranger station, continuing to Frances valley lookout. We did this hike with a group (and a guide) from the hotel Las Torres. First there is a drive from the hotel to the catamaran dock on Lago Pehoe, then the catamaran trip across the lake. We started the hike from there at about 10am and reached the Italiano campsite at around 12:45pm. We walked up the trail towards the Frances lookout, stopping for lunch at a spot with a good view. (I am not certain of the location of the Frances lookout. I have chosen a spot that seems correct, but it might not be.) We then continued to the lookout. Subsequently we returned to Paine Grande campsite by the same route. At a very leisurely pace, we reached the catamaran dock at about 6:15pm.
