A beautiful route through one of the most popular trails in Anchorage, "The Coastal Trail". He took me to Point Woronzof, from where I was able to watch at close range the many Boeing 747 cargo planes that take off every couple of minutes from Ted Stevens Airport (ANC) in Anchorage.
Then I retraced my steps to "Earthquake Park" or "earthquake park", which recalls the one that occurred on Good Friday in 1964, and which exceeded Richter's scale 9.
In this park I found myself -literally- in the middle of the path with a female moose and her two cubs. Since I had no way of getting through without risk of being rammed, I went back the way I had come to Westchester Lake.
Very simple path. Always at sea level and shared with many cyclists and hikers. Always walk keeping to the right, and watch out for wildlife. It is not uncommon for there to be moose or bears in the area.
