Itinerary description

This is a lovely hike. The first part, up to Tomaree Summit is the only challenging bit - and only because it goes up relatively steeply - it's not technically challenging. We also visited the gun embankments, which were a bit underwhelming to be honest, and did some of this walk on the smaller, less well trafficked trails, which was nice.

The view from the summit is really fantastic. The water was so clear that we could see plenty of stingrays going up and down along Zenith beach just out from the shore - pretty special to see from 100m plus above.

The next part of the hike goes along through the bush behind Zenith, Wreck and Box beaches down to Fingal Bay. We didn't go out to look at any of the beaches, but you can - we were just trying to not get too distracted!

The climb up to Fingal beach goes over a sand dune and then as the tide was out, we were able to walk out to the island and lighthouse before walking in to Fingal and stopping there.

As this is a point to point hike, we had to get picked up here. The other option would be to take a taxi back to the start point.
