The trail starts well (we actually parked at the monastery outside Nafplio) and it’s easy to take a short detour at the olive oil plant where the track takes a sharp right to head up to the small church on the steep hill in front of you (500 steps but great views). After you’ve returned to the plant snd carried on with the walk rather than continue sling the cement road look out for signs to Tolo on the left at a junction if paths and follow these instead.
If you stay on the road you ultimately climb out of the head if the valley but only to pass a pretty disgusting rubbish tip above Tolo that you avoid on the other way-marked route. It’s probably slightly shorter too but much more shaded and prettier.
