Itinerary description
The trail is recorded in the reverse direction. There is the Cape Falcon trail staring from highway 101 with parking located 100m North from the Short Sand Creek bridge. My first attempt was done using this trail. It waves through the forest for several kilometers, sometimes being muddy.
For this trip I decided to start from the South Trailhead and go by the Short Sands Trail that leads to Southern corner of to the Smuggler Cove beach. This is nice looking beach secluded by the cliffs covered with conifers. At the Northern end of the beach there is small Blumenthal Falls. Right to this fall there is a trail climbing up the slope meeting the original Cape Falcon trail near Blumenthal creek crossing. Then I followed the original trail stopping at "windows" in foliage to see scenic ocean panoramas. When I realized that the trail started to descent towards Cape Falcon Shoreside, I turned back. This when I started to record the trail. Looks like there is no trail to the tip of the Cape Falcon. At least I was not able to find it. But you can descend to the Northern tip of the Smuggler Cove using the safety rope attached to the tree. The views along the way are absolutely worth the trip.

The "window" on the Northern shoulder of the Cape Falcon. No much to see as the view is obstructed by trees. There was VERY strong wind blowing from this window!
