Tiger's Nest is one of the most important and amazing pieces of architecture in Bhutan, Taktsang Goemba.
Legend has it that it was on this cliff that Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) dismounted from the back of a flying tigress, bringing Buddhism from Tibet to Bhutan.
- We started early in the morning to avoid the hot sun during the two-hour hike up and down the mountain, offering breathtaking views, until we spotted Tiger's Nest.
- Sacred place where every Buddhist should visit at least once in his life, has 7 temples and was built on a cliff over 3,100 m high.
- The ascent to the monastery goes through a waterfall and through the main doors, decorated with murals of paintings and beautiful landscapes.
- Picnic lunch or Taktsang Cafeteria on the way back.
