Itinerary description

This track records the hiking of a section of the Tierkloof Hiking Trail while incorporating the complete Pied Barbet Trail in the Gamkaberg Nature Reserve. The Tierkloof Hiking Trail is closed around 1 kilometer before the overhang due to flood damage at the time this track was recorded. The turn around is way pointed.

A self-guided informational interpretive brochure is available at the Information Centre/Reception. This track starts and finishes at the Fossil Ridge accommodation, but can start and finish at the parking lot of the Information Centre/Reception.

Technical underfoot, this track takes in some good single track trail while exploring the heritage this Nature Reserve has on offer and preserved for all to see. Take along sunscreen, sunhat, sun lotion, water and food to eat. Do not feed baboons and do not touch the rock art paintings!
