Itinerary description

This was intended to be a linear tour between Thorner (reached by the number 7 bus from Leeds) and Red Hall (X98 or X99 bus). However, it went wrong at Shadwell where I simply could not find the footpath to Whinmoor Lane. Thus, it may be better to stop at Shadwell and catch the7S bus back to Leeds.
The footpath in Thorner is near to the bus stop and takes you on to Carr Lane where a footpath goes off on the right to Scarcroft Grange. Then the footpath goes off the A58 on the right to cross fields.
Eventually it crosses Bay Horse Lane, Coal Road before coming to Brandon Crescent. Past Low Brandon Farm the footpath comes to Shadwell by Old Brandon Lane.
There are 14 stiles along this route and no real ascents or descents - quite a pleasant hike, provided you finish in Shadwell!
