Itinerary description
From all of the attractions of the Golden Circle I would say Thingvellir appealed to me the most due to its subtle character. It doesn't have spectacular geysers or the impressive sight of a waterfall, but it's a very nicea area to wander around. The environment is of course famous for being the division of the American and Euro-asian continental plate, but also has a historic significance. The very first parliament of Iceland was residing here due to the great acoustics. This area is also surprisingly diverse with a waterfall, a church and several hiking routes.
