Itinerary description
Easy walk through the forest starting at High Lodge. It is expensive to park at high lodge - 4 hours cost us GBP9.50. It is possible to park at the Warren keepers house and do this walk for free.
My most important piece of advice for this walk is to use deet to protect yourself from ticks. Thetford forest is a Lyme disease hotspot in the UK and the second half of the walk goes through fairly long grass. We forgot our deet and I was bitten by a tick. Now I have to wait to see if I become ill. That fact alone has really reduced my enjoyment of this route.
