The path through the tea plantations is impressive, of singular beauty. As we were only doing one stage, we decided to take a tuk tuk to St. Catherine and take the route towards Haputale, that is, in the opposite direction to that proposed by the Pekoe Trail. Although this was the initial plan, the path to go up to St. Catherine by tuk tuk was complicated, so it left us about a 30-minute walk from the starting point and we decided to hitch the route a little further ahead instead of from the beginning. Most of the path is simple, in fact it does not have any technical difficulty, although without the Wikilok indications you can easily get lost, since there is no type of signage. Eye! There are a couple of sections that, due to heavy rains during the monsoon season, are almost impassable. The weeds have grown excessively and you have to push aside the bushes to be able to pass, although we did, I would recommend looking for an alternative path, the tea plantations have many surrounding paths that can replace the main route.
